Zusammenfassung

The aim of this research is to investigate two relevant phenomena in the social integration of students with Spanish heritage (heritage identity and perception of ethnic discrimination) and their relationship with academic performance. To this purpose, 40 university students born and schooled in Germany or Italy and children of immigrants who have Spanish as their mother tongue answered a validated questionnaire in the context of an interview with a native Spanish speaker. The results show that perceived discrimination is a significant factor in school performance. This factor, given the nature of the sample, is not conditioned, as in the first generations of immigrants, by ignorance of the language of the country of residence
