Abstract

Social networks have popularized the memes, multimedia constructions with the nature of signs that are conditioning a large part of the communicative and social processes. We want to study the semiotic dimension of memes, understand their behaviour. We are going to study the theory of the simulacrum of the philosopher Baudrillard, because the meme is a perfect metaphor for this digital world. Later, we will analyze examples of memes, studying its appropriationist capacity, to finish with a review of other avant-garde artistic manifestations of the 20th century.
