Zusammenfassung

Darío Fernández Flored assisted Luis Marquina to convert his novel Haute Couture (1953) into a script. In this work he transfered the low origin amorality of Lola, dark mirror (1950) to the double morality of madrilenian bourgeoisie frequent to fashion circles. Fashion profession that pretended to be distinguished, liberalizing, being at the service of system propaganda here represented by Cristobal Balenciaga designs. The representation of neopicaresque and the use of stark realism in the film will be appreciated and it will be pointed out the achievements of this portrait of spanish post-war moral misery made by one of its most controversial participants.
