Abstract

Alfredo Pirri is among the most relevant artists in the current European panorama. His work has been developed in the form of painting, sculpture, scenography and architecture, to name but a few of the disciplines worked in his career since the 80s of the last century Most recently, he has partially executed a group of three works focused on the construction of memory in key public spaces in Rome, Turi, Tirana and Florence. His projects Fuoco - Cenere - Silenzi, Compagni e angeli and Prospettive con orizzonti, start from particular events such as the last pandemic, the thought of Antonio Gramsci and the definition of a square, to subsequently activate urban devices designed to encourage collective reflection, the meditation of the whole of the society that welcomes and lives them. The author articulates a process far from certain recurrent and innocuous strategies, using vectors that, in a certain sense, seek to change the citizenry in complex times.
