Resumo

Derived from the existence of productive resources and talent available in design and engineering, the offshore centers’ implementation for engineering firms is becoming a successful internationalization strategy. The strong development of Spanish companies in the area of engineering services, as a result of the creation of a housing bubble in the years before the current First Global Crisis, has generalized this strategy. The objective of this work is to study which are the technical determinants for performing an offshoring process, for which the types on the market are discussed and analyzed through a survey, in the Spanish case. It ends with some conclusions.
