Abstract
This doctoral thesis explores how nutrition and physical training work together to influence health, performance, and overall well-being. This article examines how specific herbal supplements and thoughtfully designed training strategies can improve body composition, immune function, athletic performance, and mental health. Key compounds studied include green tea catechins, curcumin, red beet nitrates, and Pleurotus ostreatus, which help reduce inflammation, oxidative stress, and support recovery after exercise. When combined with exercise programs, these supplements provide tangible benefits for health and physical performance. The thesis also examines training load and biological maturation in young athletes, showing that tailoring intensity and volume to their developmental stage prevents overtraining and promotes balanced physical and psychological growth. Overall, this work highlights that evidence-based nutrition paired with well-planned training not only enhances performance but also supports long-term health and quality of life, offering a holistic approach for those seeking to improve both fitness and well-being
